Regional Indoor Track & Field Event – Largest Ever in Field House History

SAINT JOHN: On February 2-3, 2024, the Saint John Reds Track & Field Club will host over 450 competitors from across the region in what has become the largest major indoor track & field event ever held at the Irving Oil Field House.
The event which is the NB Indoor Track & Field Championships & Reds University Invitational features athletes representing fourteen clubs from across the region and all AUS university teams. Bill MacMackin, President of the Saint John Red Track & Field Club explains how collaboration is the key to success when it comes to pulling off another year of competitions.
“Working with Athletics New Brunswick and our federation partners in the Maritimes, and the UNB REDS allows us to host these events and shows the advantage and the power of teamwork,” MacMackin said. “This is the largest Track & Field event ever held at the Irving Oil Field House. We are proud to have Envision Saint John as a key sponsor as the the Regional Growth Agency provides great hosting assistance which ensures successful events.”
Past national events are estimated to have a collective economic impact of between $1-$2M for the region and the 2024 event is expected to have positive impact this weekend.
