Lana Asaaf, senior economic advisor to Envision Saint John, through a partnership with the Atlantic Economic Council provided an update on the state of the economy at the Fundy Regional Service Commission's regional summit in November 2024. In November 2024, Envision Saint John presented to the City of Saint John's Growth Committee on the importance of the region's industrial sector and highlighted how we have a once in a generation opportunity to leverage our industrial base for our economic growth.
The Saint John Region is situated on the traditional territory of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’Kmaq, and Peskotomuhkati Nations. This territory is covered by Peace and Friendship Treaties signed with the British Crown in the 1700s. The treaties recognized the significant and meaningful role of the Wolastoqiyik, Mi’Kmaq, and Peskotomuhkati in this province and the country with the intent to establish a relationship of trust and friendship.
